Question about Precision Performance Shifters
I have a TH350 with a automatic 1-2 shift forward valve body for the car I am putting together. So the only shifting I have to do is the 2-3 shift. I was going to use a gate type shifter like the one ATI sells so I dont have to pull a handle while moving shifter lever at the same time. I have heard alot of good things about the Precison Performance shifters. My question is do you have to pull the little handle and move the shift lever at the same time to make the 2-3 shift? If so is it a pain in the but? Looking for opinions. Should have not been so cheap *** and bought the electronic valve body trans and this would not have been a issue LOL.
Thanks Rob |

Ed
Which one of their shifters do you have? Kwik shift I or Kwik shift II. Thanks again for the help. |
Re: Question about Precision Performance Shifters
I have a precision shifter and love it. Previously i was using a b&m star shifter and the ppp is light years easier to use. My trans is also an auto 1-2 and no issues with additional levers to pull or move. Great tech support too by the way.

Then you have either the "Powershift" or the "Kwik shift II" they dont recomend the Kwik shift I to be used with the CO2 cylinder. The Kwik shift II is base price of 200 without accessories and the Powershift is 415 with out the extras. I am sure there are other differences I am not understanding. I guess I better call them and see what they recomend before I screw up and buy the wrong part again. I have done that too many times already LOL! Thanks Rob |

I think you have it backwards. The Kwik Shift II is the cheaper version of the Kwik Shift I. |

@Dion do you know which one you have? I guess I am going to go with them. Much smaller and look much better than the big ol gate shifter. Plus I have not heard one bad thing about them. |

Re: Question about Precision Performance Shifters
I had to go look at my receipt as i couldnt remember which but i have the quick shift 2. I ordered it with the necessary brackets and when i called we spent some time on the phone making sure i was getting all that i needed, like i had said great customer service hope this helps.
Ps the part number is 201b k/s 2 pps almost forgot, my line lock button was on the shifter arm ,and when I got the ppp shifter I had to order thier switch. It is custom formed to the handle and works great...expensive.....but great. the switch was 60 doll hairs. |
Re: Question about Precision Performance Shifters
I switched to a Kwik Shift I earlier last year in our sportsman car. Works perfect and the quality is very nice. Nothing more than a push forward needed to change gears, both from 1-2 and 2-3. Very nice shifter.

Re: Question about Precision Performance Shifters
Only issue I have had with mine the last four years has been a couple of screws falling out. I would recommend snugging them up periodically. I put a dab of blue Loc Tite on mine the second time it happened.

Re: Question about Precision Performance Shifters
Thanks for the help guys. I am going to get one. I will call them later in the week and get what they recomend. I guess it would be best to get the whole thing from them shifter, shifter brackets, cable, cable brackets and trans arm all at once. The wife will love it when the Visa bill comes in. I can imagine the butt chewing alredy. LOL.

Re: Question about Precision Performance Shifters
I had this shifter on my rebel machine and it worked great ,,one thing to know when you install it as any cable shifter install ,,make sure the cable is routed with less bends as possible ,,if there is any bind on the cable it wont allow the detent to drop to shift into the next gear ,,I think the shifter has a front and rear cable exit option gmonde

Re: Question about Precision Performance Shifters
Anybody got a good number for Precison Performance? I have called the number on thier website a bunch of times and can never get ahold of anyone. The answering machine that picks up says they are not available and to call "Brad" at a 208 area code number. I have called there too with no luck. Do they have distributors or is the only way to get one directly through them? If you know of a better way to contact them or some other way to purchace one please let me know. I need the whole ball of wax shifter, cables, brackets ect ect.
Thanks Rob |
