Really a neat idea but they cost a small fortune approx $2200--$2600 Australian Dollars---or approx $1600---$1900 US---only work on a few trans some Tremec and some Borg Warner gear boxes--Ugly !!!

Yep. Great for road course cars. Wee bit expensive for a super stocker with a T56.

Expensive, but all billet. Would be curious to see how good it works. The idea of 'ugly' is relative. I can't think of any shifters for drag cars that are 'cool' looking. I go to the drag strip and I will see more mustaches, tucked in t-shirts and all white tennis shoes per capita then anywhere else I can think of. Also more tribal/ shredder graphics than should have been allowed in the 90's when they were supposed to be 'cool'.

Cool to me is something someone made, not bought and then they turn on the win light...

$125K- $150K stockers. Who's worried about a $2.5K shifter.

Wondering who here (in S/SS ) ever raced with a T-5 , Tremac type transmission, besides me ?

Mark,
I started out with a modified T-5 with every other tooth on the syncro removed. That was in 1997! It lasted 2 seasons until I got greedy with the clutch and killed it.

I think a lot of us started out with stock or modified T-5's, until it was too much of a performance and financial impact. I bought my first used G-Force GF5-R in 2007 and until I damaged 5th gear this year, its been bullet proof and well worth the expense.

The Bremer shifter has been out since last November. This shifter as stated would be fine for classes that require the Tremac trans and road racing, it would be a terrible investment for a S/SS car as the available gear ratios in the trans it was made for are not optimal.

Like Sean , I also started out with T5 Mustang 5 speeds in my 85 M/Stocker,after breaking one, I decided to cut my losses, and sell the good T5, and bought a used Jerico DR4, and never looked back. If that sequential shifter really is $2500., that is more than I paid for either of my used DR4s, that both come with Long V Gate shifters. Considering all the compromises of using a street type transmission (non optimal ratios or the ability to select from a vast number of available ratios, a useless, un needed overdriven 5th, weaker gears etc, ) that shifter money could be much, much better spent.

I did, can't say I enjoyed it, but it's what I had/could afford at the time.

Re: New style inline manual shifter?

I figured there were a few gluttons for punishment here.LOL

My turbo car came with a 4.05 first T4. Seeing there weren't any shifters available for it, I went with the 3.96 1st Turbo Coupe T5 , with a B&M type shifter.
I didn't have a lot of choice with a 4.88 rear, which was about max with the turbo.
First thing..It wouldn't shift at all over 6 grand, with synchros in it . I did the slick shift deal to it, and removed the heavy 5th o.d. setup while I was at it. I couldn't use it anyway in a 1980 car.
Next problem was, it was hard to go from 2nd to 3rd without catching a bit of the 5th /rev. rail, or actually going into 5th. Seeing it wasn't there, you can see the problem.
I fabbed up a lock out plate deal with a swivel and pit pin on it for reverse. That thing bit me one time when I over staged and committed the mortal sin of deep staging a Stocker.
I couldn't get it into rev. fast enough, so a new way to lose, that day.

I never did like the feel of the top shifter, but have to say, I never missed a gear or broke anything in a couple of seasons.

Bottom line..This shifter might work a lot better, and the price wouldn't bother many here, but I don't see a good application for it in NHRA type Stock racing.
