Has anyone run a DP
 
I was in a conversation with a local dealer that has a DP on order. He was wanting to know what they will run...as they come with the Real stock DP engine... I couldn't tell him since everyone seems to be building NHRA stockers out of them. Has anyone run one with a DP 6.1 as it comes ?? If they have toss me some numbers and I'll impress a dealer when I show him how they run with a NHRA bluprinted engine.

Yeah we ran 2 of them "As they come"

1 came apart on the dyno, and the other one after about 7 passes in the water.

The come with ARP 8740's and the Rods are junk.

10.4x was the best we got out of it in stock trim engine wise.

I THINK however Randy Warford ran faster like 10.2 with a stock untouched motor, although I believe he has since gone through it.

6.1 and 5,7 when preped for stock will run 9,70s in good air, maybe faster.

Garlits' car ran 10.00 originally, before they did any tuning. Jim

I was at Indy last year when Garlits' debuted the car, best he ran for the weekend was only 10.48, don't believe he qualified. Irv Johns and Doug Duell were running 10.0's. Perhaps he ran 10.0's after that?? Not sure what his best is, haven't heard much about him lately. Just saying. Jerry.

Not far from Garlits' place here. When they first got the car it ran 10.0's on a couple of shake down passes.Not with Don at the wheel. Then they started "tuning " it and the result was Indy's performance. As far as we know down here the car sits at the museum. Maybe Mack knows more about the current situation. Jim

I havn't heard a word out of him... Talked to him at PRI and the Gators but not heard anything since .... Not sure if he's planning on Indy or not... But I haven't been to a track much this year either... Working on a slow boat to china project!!!!!!! :D

Does anyone know if someone will run a 6.1 Drag Pak in Super Stock (SS/D or E)?
How about GT with a 440-6 Pak or a traditional HEMI?

I've pushed them, pulled them, dyno'd them.....Never ran one.
