For what I know...spline size on the Vega box is different. You will have to fab a pitman arm. Box is smaller so the rag joint will come up short too so you would have to fab something there as well.

Don't think that box is rated for the weight of that Camaro...

An S10 box may be a better option.

i figured i'd need the pitman arm... i wasnt sure if it was basically a direct swap... sounds more trouble than its worth... i figured it'd be ok to be used on a drag car... was lookin for more header clearance...

Hi
I was going to try one of those but was talked out of it by a fellow racer who had one fail
( brake off the frame)
and it caused him to crash his car in to the wall.
I don't think it was worth it.
Just my 2 Penny's worth..

Well, i doubt thats what i'll do... i probably stick with the camaro box that i have... THe headers i have are pretty tight(hedman Huslers), but gonna switch to Mad Dogs, which i believe will fit better... Huslers arent legal for stock(plates)...

I would love to hear more about this S 10 manual steering and a pitman arm and any info you can pass on boxin a first gen F body. This is a 1967 Camaro I am working on. We are starting w a power box n pump and looking to remove it.
Car in body shop n will be home prob sooner then later.
Chris.

Flaming new Vega box with X body conversion pitman... Light but not recommended for big wheelies.

Local guy broke an aluminum version of the Vega box on a big wheelstand.... I also have an aluminum Vega one but I'm too nervous to try it. My car barely pulls the tires.

Check these guys out http://www.borgeson.com/
Jegs carries there stuff. My 3rg gen had the s10 box on it but the wrong pitman. I called their service and they were very helpful. They had a direct fit. Hope it helps.
