Stock eliminator classification
1986 camaro coupe (Non-Z28 or Iroc). Using 385hp crate motor.
Shipping Wt: 3219 divided by 390 hp= 8.25 factor Natural class: E/CM Minimal wt: 3,290 lbs. Am I correct with my figures? Any input greatly appreciated. Jason |
Re: Stock eliminator classification
Yes you are. Min wt for E = 8 x 390 + 170
Same for D (7.50) and F/CM (8.50), top weight break x horsepower. |
Re: Stock eliminator classification
Thanks for the help Mike. I do have a question about electric shifting. What is legal for stock eliminator class? My plan is to use metric 200 trans with cheetah/CO2 shifter. I have not found any information in the rule book regarding the use of electric shifters. Everyone seems to have a different opinion on the subject. Any thoughts? Jason

Re: Stock eliminator classification
I believe e-shift are only legal on computer controlled, fuel injected cars.
Meaning, an A/SA (B/FIA in IHRA) '02 Firebird can have it; an A/SA '69 Camaro can not. |

It's pretty clear if you look at the rule book section for Stock and item on Transmission (automatic)....Mike's right and you can't use your CO2 either. Super Stock gets to use e-shift/Air shifters. Sure you have the most recent rulebook? It's available on-line for NHRA members when they log into the site... |

I am looking at the IHRA online official rulebook. However, there is no mention about what type of shifting devices are legal. I am looking under the Stock Eliminator and the Stock Eliminator Crate Motor section. |
