Default Stock eliminator classification

1986 camaro coupe (Non-Z28 or Iroc). Using 385hp crate motor.

Shipping Wt: 3219 divided by 390 hp= 8.25 factor

Natural class: E/CM Minimal wt: 3,290 lbs.

Am I correct with my figures? Any input greatly appreciated. Jason

Yes you are. Min wt for E = 8 x 390 + 170

Same for D (7.50) and F/CM (8.50), top weight break x horsepower.

Thanks for the help Mike. I do have a question about electric shifting. What is legal for stock eliminator class? My plan is to use metric 200 trans with cheetah/CO2 shifter. I have not found any information in the rule book regarding the use of electric shifters. Everyone seems to have a different opinion on the subject. Any thoughts? Jason

I believe e-shift are only legal on computer controlled, fuel injected cars.

Meaning, an A/SA (B/FIA in IHRA) '02 Firebird can have it; an A/SA '69 Camaro can not.

It's pretty clear if you look at the rule book section for Stock and item on Transmission (automatic)....Mike's right and you can't use your CO2 either. Super Stock gets to use e-shift/Air shifters. Sure you have the most recent rulebook? It's available on-line for NHRA members when they log into the site...

I am looking at the IHRA online official rulebook. However, there is no mention about what type of shifting devices are legal. I am looking under the Stock Eliminator and the Stock Eliminator Crate Motor section.

What page in the IHRA rule book does it state that electric shifters or CO2 shifters are prohibited in crate motor? Thanks in advance. Jason
