return line
building another sb stocker for my son , do I need a return line for this carburetor engine?

Re: return line
Hi Mike...I used a -8AN return in my fuel system. I don't regret spending a little extra on hose, fittings and the regulator to get the benefits as compared with the dead head style. Very consistent pressure at all times.

Re: return line
Mike,
with several builds/upgrades, each one has smooth, steady pressure with the addition of a return line. *The ultimate [when rules allow] belt drive pump with bypass regulator *When rules require an electric pump I like a return style regulator that has a vacuum feature. Even with our radical cams just a few inches of vacuum at low speeds bring the pressure down about 2 - 3 pounds below the wide open [vacuun line removed] setting. *At light throttle, the engine is less "blubbery" with lower fuel pressure |
Re: return line
Before we reworked our complete fuel system we were dead heading the fuel line to the carburetor. We went with a new Aeromotive fuel pump and regulator. It was recommended by Aeromotive to put in a return line which we did. The system to date has been working well with no fuel delivery related issues.
