Hey Ford guys, is the Ford Racing 460 block legal in super stock? I think the part number is M-6010-A460X. Thanks!

Re: legal 460 block
Not legal. There are no aftermarket blocks legal for the 429-460 stuff, as of now.

Re: legal 460 block
What about the Ford Motor block? It?s not aftermarket like a Dart or World block?
|
Re: legal 460 block
That block is a Ford block. Not aftermarket. Does it really need to be approved?

Re: legal 460 block
Rules use the wording "replacement block" not aftermarket. The 302 6010 boss block is also a Ford block and it had to be approved and is a legal replacement. So it looks like it would need to be approved.

Re: legal 460 block
Soo...what?...
Does someone have to buy one and send it to NHRA?... I mean what exactly is the approval process? (asking because I really don't know what it takes to get something like this approved) Seems like in this day and age there would be replacement blocks available for all the "popular" manufacturers... I mean... Deck Height...Check Bore size...Check Main journal size...Check How hard is that? What else? Onerous paperwork? Left nut... ? First born...? |
Re: legal 460 block
Hit the NHRA Competition link, click on NHRA Accepted Products, then click on NHRA Component Acceptance Process. Have fun! LOL
