Default legal 460 block

Hey Ford guys, is the Ford Racing 460 block legal in super stock? I think the part number is M-6010-A460X. Thanks!

Not legal. There are no aftermarket blocks legal for the 429-460 stuff, as of now.

That block is a Ford block. Not aftermarket. Does it really need to be approved?

Rules use the wording "replacement block" not aftermarket. The 302 6010 boss block is also a Ford block and it had to be approved and is a legal replacement. So it looks like it would need to be approved.

Soo...what?...
Does someone have to buy one and send it to NHRA?...
I mean what exactly is the approval process?
(asking because I really don't know what it takes to get something like this approved)
Seems like in this day and age there would be replacement blocks available for all the "popular" manufacturers...
I mean...

Deck Height...Check
Bore size...Check
Main journal size...Check

How hard is that?
What else?
Onerous paperwork?
Left nut... ?
First born...?

Hit the NHRA Competition link, click on NHRA Accepted Products, then click on NHRA Component Acceptance Process. Have fun! LOL

If you ask Ford, they might get their block approved for you .
