Default Re: leaf spring help

Alan, i dont know anything about leafs except you cant get them from competition engineering. . . . . I MISTAKENLY bought a set of slide links, called comp to ask about the leafs and got a "duh, we dont know" answer.

Started doing some reading and seems like i came across an article by eaton that claimed split monos were dangerous BUT most fast stockers use them. . So couldnt be that dangerous. . . Thought I would ask

The car has stock leafs with all alum inserts in the leafs with grease fittings. . . I did remove one leaf and then cut another one down to fill the gap for the spring purches. I also cut off the back clamps around the springs.

I think i found one problem. . , need to ask about shock location. . . . This now is a bracket car. I bought it from a friend and have been slowly putting it back to stocker form. I noticed someone moved the shocks inward some. When the did, they mounted it with the lower eye in a way that when the rear trys to rotate, it trys to bend the shock. I need to turn the lower bracket to work with the rear instead of trying to prevent it from moving. . . . But while im at it, does it need to be in a stock location or can it be altered?

Thanks
