Post Re: IHRA Memphis Superstock

Cody,

I haven't really followed the Summit Super Series rules, but the fields are set for the bracket cars. Using a completely different format, I believe they were determined at the respective divisional ET finals after racers ran for points on a local level at their "home" track. But they won't have any other bracket cars at this particular Sportsman Spectacular anyway because the time is needed for the ET finalists.

Ed,

They prefer to call it a "re-enty" round. The first round losers can run each other and then the winners can proceed to the regular 2nd round. It's not an automatic buy-back. You have to work for it. This is only in effect if there are less than 64 cars. 64 or more = no re-entry.

This is basically so they don't lose their butt while trying to provide a decent payout. A guaranteed $5,000 + contingency for $200 entry is pretty good in my book. Unfortunately, IHRA still got burned bad at San Antonio because very few cars showed up! But they paid.
