Street cred (short for street credibility) is respect gained through tangible accomplishments, often associated with rap or hip-hop music. Say a rapper is raised in an upper class family. Street cred has worked its way into mainstream popular culture. A lawyer might earn street cred by successfully defending high-profile clients. In Jack's reply to 1320 he basically told him he has no street cred in class racing.
The reason I wrote what I did is because after reading Mr. Ficacci's post I tried to figure out why Jack would leave out the fact that he knew this rule was going to be enforced, yet his post makes it seem like it's the first time he's ever heard about it. Did he forget? Does he have alzheimers? The only thing I could come up with is he might be trying to shed his NHRA cheerleader image, so he criticized them.
IMO, a good reporter would have never left this info out. In fact, a good reporter would have posted something about it when they first found out about it six weeks ago, but that's just my opinion.
Oh, and by the way, I don't listen to rap, I'm a classic rock guy through and through.
