mr cates i know which car i was talking about , your first sentence was in this case looks are not decieving ,well sir they are if you look it still has the stock front window trim, 63 only, but what you cant see is the title and trim and vin tag that prove it started out as a 63, your second sentence, can you tell by my screen name i should know a 63 when i see it, well if that was the case you said my superstocker was a 63 as it has all the right things, well wrong as it doesnt have the front window trim and it is a 64 . you also said my stocker looks right , well once again its run as a 67 but its a 65, one of your other sentences , so what is your point, my point is not everything is as it looks corvettes have been one the most popular race cars since the beginning so if you wanted to chg classes you just chged the vents or louveres to make it what ever want so if you cut out the back window of a 63 and put in 67 louveres and call it a 67 and its still titled a 63 as it started i would say its still a 63, one more example is the car posted by chopperloco has 67 vents but its not a 67,but then again my brother had a 61 that was titled as 58 that was bought right from a chevy dealer so what year would that be, i could go on and on but im starting to sound like the experts which i definatley am not and dont want to be. but i do love old corvette race cars whatever year you want to call them.

Lynn, my first comment is above and it states "That body sure looks like a 67 to me."
I was talking about the body not the trim or the vin tag just the body style.
I raced the original body 63 for many years before retirement in S/G and SST.
I was just not that competitive and moved up to a full round tube and more HP than it was able to support.
I own a 67 original street car and I currently race a Don Davis C5 roadster in Super Gas. The C5 was built in 2007 and I use that year on my tech cards as its year.
I left stock class racing in the 60's to get married and raise a family however, I still watch Stock and Super Stock when at the races as time permits.
We have been friends with the Cotton's for years. We were parked next to them many years ago and have been friends since. Mike and Paula are just great people and I am proud to call them friends. I do not care what brand someone races it is all about the races and the friends you make at the races. We have made race friends all over the country and into Canada since retirement.
I remember when the red corvette, you mentioned in the photo from page 6 was awarded the Best Engineered award in Las Vegas. I was there racing and looked at it and it was nice.
I am on the forum to learn things about the racing and the racing community and possibly make a few new friends. And like I stated earlier not to make enemies. I just took your first comments about me not being an expert as having made enemy. I hope that is not the case. I am old and have lots of experience in lots of different things however, I am not an expert in anything. That is all I was trying to state.
