If your uncle already has the Moroso spring, and he wants to give them a go, install them in the car 1st, before cutting anything off. Make sure the car is at the race weight. engine-trans -radiator- hood headers, all accessories, water etc., don't forget the driver weight.
when that is all done cut the steering wheel full left to full right a few times to settle the suspension. Then look at it and see where it is. If you'd like it to be lower, you should cut no more than a quarter of a coil off at a time and reinstall/evaluate etc.
Its a trial and error proceess, every car is a little different. Once you know what your car likes, it is easy to prepare a replacement set of springs when the time comes PS-(keep a notebook and write everything down)
