Question,,,
Mickey Thompson and Goodyear slicks say 1" +/- tread width and thats what the wheel width should be Im looking at the following tires on an 8" rim 1) Mickey Thompson 3055 28.1" o.d 10.0" tread width 11.7" section width measured on a 10" wheel suggested wheel 10" 2) Goodyear D2001 28" o.d 10.0" tread width 12.0" section width measured on a 10" wheel suggested wheel 10" 3) Hoosier 18154C07 28" o.d 10" tread width 11.4" section width measured on an 8" wheel suggest 8"-10" wheels Now, why cant i use the Mickey Thompson or Goodyear on an 8" wheel If any of these tires were on an 8" wheel would they need more/less pressure than when on a 9" or 10" wheel? Would it have any kind of strange effects due to the fact the wheel width is 2" narrower than the tread width ? Tires will have tubes, tires will be bolted to the wheels too Thanks for the help |
