You can drill a 1in hole in the face of the bell to access the adjusters but you will have to slide the tranny back to adjust the pressure plate.
I believe the only way to have a removable panel will be to buy a bell with the removable panel that is SFI certified. |

I sent mine to the Manufacturer for a window, Quicktime in my case. Chevy 55 is right it has to be re-certified after any modifications are performed.

Agree with the previous responses, and would add that Browell makes an excellent bellhousing. They will customize to meet customers' needs including SFI compliant window to ease counterweight adjustment and hole through the back for quick adjuster changes.

I wanted to buy a Browell, 12 months later still waiting. I bought McCloud, a few hundred dollars cheaper, lighter and adjustable friendly for clutch and air gap.

The Browell bellhousing was probably one of the best purchases I have made. As Mr. Ames pointed out, you can have the window clocked anywhere. The hole for air gap measurement they will drill and tap it for a plug. The other added benefit, alignment was spot on with 2 different engines. You get what you pay for.
427FE, If you are wanting to modify the bellhousing yourself, its been done. Others will tell you "Tech has never looked at my bellhousing certification date so have at it with modifications". That is up to you. For those with bellhousings without a window, its not uncommon that they drill a hole so a long allen socket will reach the adjuster. CW is a different can of worms. I fabricated offset wrenches and would put duct tape on the wrench to capture the hardware and reach through the fork window. It was a fishing expedition when I dropped aluminum nuts or bolts! There are pictures and how people with fabrication skills added a window to their bellhousings on the internet. Sean

I wanted to buy a browell, but they couldn't accommodate a 184 tooth flywheel, didnt want to go down the custom starter route. Thanks for replies.
