What would be the best legal aluminum intake for a 350 -- 330 hp. SBC IHRA crate motor? ---- Also who grinds the best stocker cam for this engine and do the Sherman hyd. lifters have a decent life span as the Schubecks are just a little too pricey? ---- Thanks
Oh yes, -- will Shell Rotella 5 - 30 with 1 bottle of G.M. -- EOS help extend the cam & lifter life or should i do the Royal Purple 5 - 30 with a can of EOS? |

I know that Bruce Parsons has run very fast using a Bullet Cam and Performance Products intake [same as Super Victor]

Don't mean to hijack, but can someone tell me why some of the stockers are running Schubecks and the huge spring pressure numbers I hear about? - I put together a sbc with .842" flat steel lifters,P55 core with .875" lobes, steel valves, that winds to 8200 rpm all day long, and only has 150 seat/400 lbs. open. Just curious what I may be missing?, and why some have gone down that path?

Thanks for the reply Bub, I am aware of the lift rules, I just would have thought that there must be a better way than resorting to spring pressure, and the problems that come with it.

The performance products intake seems to be quicker in the 1/4.
The GM Performance Parts intake runs good in the 1/8. I'm currently running the GM intake.
