back in at least the 80's that I recall with the Olympia beer car...
Worked non stop on the car, drove the truck, what ever it took..

I had a lengthy conversation with Vern in Topeka a few years back. Both of us were division 5 racers in the 60's and early 70's. I stopped to raise a family and Vern kept going, and going, and going.

What a guy... thought he would be around forever. RIP

So true. Vern was good at getting funding from smaller brewing companies. His early Oly Roller Vegas to my favorite, the Hamms Beer Datsun 280Z he won Indy with. He was always someone to watch for sure!
