I know some one who finished a restoration about 2 years ago. The car combines some features of the Cadillac Eldorado Barritz.

Mark, the body style you describe is correct. The article i was reading said there were only 2 made. The one in this article is in dayton, ohio. Don't know about the 2 made though.

Go to: http://tinyurl.com/9syk6w for the El Morocco story.

The owner of a local restaurant (Granoff's) in Little Rock, Arkansas bought one of these in '57 and he parked it out in front of his business so everyone could get a good look at it.

That's the only one I ever saw. Apparently they also built a few in 1956.... something like 25 El Moroccos, total, were built (approximate number.)

Check out Jay Leno's Garage. ....It figures he'd have one in his collection. ........Pretty good account of the making and marketing of the cars too. ......They were apperantly custom built by an outside vendor, but marketed by Chevy dealers. ........Tom

Dick Clark Museum in Branson has a combo car like that description. It is as pictured in the article. He has one of all types of 57 cars and I had never heard of the Morroco when I saw it there.
Interesting, Thanks

I am an old time drag racer since 1954. Around 1960 at Hyde Park drag strip( fifth mile) at Newark/Heath Ohio I remember seeing a very interesting black 57 Chevy custom built from somewhere that was very fast
and won a lot in stock class. Your question brought back the memory, Thanks, Ray Sowers age 72.
