I need help, I'm quickly running out of time,I'm trying to get my car going for the Dallas race next weekend. The problem is that I bought a used Dynamic Metric 200, it was built on a Chevy case and I needed a BOP case.So when I changed out the case I freshened it up, there was nothing unusual, just some scorched clutches. Now that I have it installed, there is no hi gear. When I lift checked it, I could not feel it go into third gear, but when I pulled it back into second, I could feel second re-engage. Then I let it down and test drove it, and sure enough, when I shifted into third, it would just flare up. I pulled it back out and checked every thing. The only thing I could find was that I had put the wrong check ball in the front pump, as well as the fact that the Chevy case was built on a lock up unit, and the BOP case is a non-lock up unit. Thinking that must have been the problem, I fixed it and reinstalled. STILL NO THIRD GEAR!!! HELP!!!

I did not plug the governor passage, because the other unit did not have it plug ed.So I went out and plug ed it off, still no third.Put in a governor and a new governor cover, still no third.

No Sir,I was told it was a forward patten valve body. Before I bought it I talked to Frank Lupo, and he said the early ones he made were all forward pattern.

Seems to me the governor passage would have to be plugged on the case side, above the valve body. Otherwise ,you're going to have to trace the fluid from the VB to the servo and direct. Call me : 602 -769-0346

Don't be sorry,I am taking all advice on this problem. It looks like we traced the problem to the valve body. And welcome to Classracer.A lot of good people on here.
