Cool Radial slick vs. Bias-ply slick

I am returning to dragracing after a long time away from the sport.I will be running in Stock Eliminator in a stick shift car. What are the differences in the use of a radial vs. bias-ply slick.
I will appreciate any and all input.

I can be incorrect...but, as I understand, stick shift cars are running bias-py and not radials in Stock Eliminator

Radials will not work in a stick car. Bias ply or the Mickey Thompson stick shift tire is what you need to use. Have fun!!!!!

Joe is right on. Buy a set of Mickey Thompson 29.5 stick tires. Make sure yo uget the right ones. They make a 29.5 bias ply for an auto and a radial 29.5. This wont be a problem if you buy then at a MT trailer, but if you order from a 3rd party make sure they send the right ones. I know Larry Hodge sells them and will know what you need. The part # is 3056ST. The MTs last and are quick. Welcome to stick stock racing! Lot's more fun! Don't forget the clutch pedal switch.

I agree on the tires, and the 3056st tires are a good choice. 10 years ago or so when my camaro would make l or m stock (stick), I used some radials on a few record runs. The car would loose a few hundredths in 60 and gain that and a couple more back down track. It was a net gain but the car was heavy and it won't work at faster et's nowadays in my car.
