Hard Cards available to Sportsman and Pro Mod national event competitors
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4/28/2010 NHRA announced today that hard cards will be made available to Sportsman and Pro Mod competitors attending NHRA National Events. The hard card will take the place of your paper credential and will act as a Restricted Area Pass. The hard card will be printed with a barcode and will only be active for the national event you are registered for. The amount of hard cards made available will be based on a competitor's paid entry or Gold, Silver, Bronze card status. The table below is a breakdown of available hard cards by category. Category G,S B Card Status Hard Card Allotment TAD N/A 4 TAFC N/A 4 COMP N/A 1 SS N/A 1 STK N/A 1 SC N/A 1 SG N/A 1 TAD G 4 TAFC G 4 COMP G 2 SS G 2 STK G 2 SC G 2 SG G 2 TAD S 2 TAFC S 2 COMP S 1 SS S 1 STK S 1 SC S 1 SG S 1 TAD B 1 TAFC B 1 PM N/A 4 To apply for a hard card please email NHRA sportsmanhardcard@nhra.com and provide your name, membership number, car number and mailing address. A hard card application and waiver will be sent to you. It should be noted the application must be completed, the waiver needs to be notarized, a passport photo supplied and method of payment for the $100 processing fee. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Where did you find this information? Looks like another way for NHRA to make an additional $100, or does this fee come off your entry fee? Why would we want to pay another $100???

Does the phrase "hard cards will be made available to Sportsman and Pro Mod competitors" mean they are not required? It sounds like an option to me.

.. being the "cheap *****" that I am...... I think that I will go the non-$100 route............... why mess w/something that works!
