Talking Re: How long has NHRA had driver at 170lbs

I was 145 before I started racing. With all the down time between runs and all the food at the tracks I now weigh 180. It seems so hard to get back down.

I Believe it came out in the 1978 or 79 rule book ta without warning. In the mid
70s I weighed up to 308 lbs on the Hoof. I raced a 64 Plymouth in A/SA and would
have to compete with gentleman Like Bob Thompson in a similiar car
that weighed perhaps 120 Dripping Wet out of the shower (giving up nearly two tenths in performance).
I finally Joined the Gym and in less than a year got down to 164 for the
Next Season. When the Rule book arrived they decided to weigh the cars
with the driver in them much to my Surprise.

Well I am back to the 240's now, but it took 30 some years to gain it back.
However, I probably would of died a long time ago otherwise so I guess
I owe NHRA a vote of Thanks that I am still around!!

I will see everybody at Winter's

Mack, I keep telling you I've got an instant weight savings for your DragPak....like my "burly" 145 pound carcass in the seat. LOL Last time I mentioned my weight on here Jeff Teuton made an "insensitive" remark...go figure. See you guys at Orlando, too much racing in Feb/March to possibly make Immokalee, I've been building up points all winter just for the NHRA southern swing.
