Attend a Stock/Superstock combo with a class car at correct weight against a 750 Holley topped bracket car at who knows what weight knowing that the car couldn't run the index if it was at correct weight with the correct carb and intake.
Then to top it off have those runs count against the AHFS
Hey Rich,
BTW, Thanks for the info on the online entry issue. This issue was brought to the attention to a Div 7
tech director at the Nat open in Sac and a racer was told that it was explained to the bracket entry guys in S/SS that if it came down to a issue or someone ponies up the bucks for a teardown that they better be prepared. I think the biggest problem is where they hold the damn race at!!! Not saying the other issue isnt BS either because it is. Hope you get your ride back together soon. Bob A.

Working feverishly on the car.
Weren't national opens ment to be places to set records and get more runs in on w well prepped track? for class racers that is....
Usually the races were planned with mindsahft weather conditions in mind.....

Seems the purpose of a grade point has taken over.

Rich, last year as you stated there were 4 bracket cars in the sac. open. I went to the tech offical and said at least check carbs& intakes as I did not want to lose to somebody that had no work in there cars.30 min.later tech (mike) came to my trailer and wanted to see under my hood.they checked nobody else. the wagon dialed under the record M/sa at the time.....At the next race in Fallon Mike Rice told me he was glad I won with a legal stocker for nat.dragster.this year was all class cars, same results legal stocker won

Randy,
That is what i was refering to......... This year the "word" was out waaaay ahead of time that they were going to do a better job at tech for the S/SS Combo .

All I was saying is.....after what happened the year before, I honestly believe "You don't get a second chance to make a first impression" ...... and unfortunately for Sac Raceway, I think the turnout reflected it this year.

Besides didn't you win it back to back?

Im not sure what they were thinking about when they decided to hold a National Open at Sac
if they were thinking about that track prep is not a first concern at Sac for sure LOL. And
Mindshaft weather has it not been 1000deg at both races. I think those are both high expectations
on our part and not a concern on others. I would be real surprised if they hold one again next year
due to the turnout and it is once again one less race for us.

Last year at the PIR National Open I saw them weighing cars with portable electronic scales. Not sure if they were weighing everyone, I just happened to note it and was tempted to weigh my bracket car, but there was a long line each time I went past it.

Regards,
