I've been witness to a Drag Pak build over the past year and it in no way does it resemble what anyone in their right mind would consider being a stocker.
Maybe that's why people have a problem with these new combinations?
Well Herb?

Ed why are you calling me out? I mean last I checked you dont have a drag pack car in your class? Do you have an issue here? I mean Ill bet we can get chrysler to put a STR4 engine in a challenger and have it run T/SA. After all there are a few in Comp right now.

Because for a guy who doesn't race NHRA (you) has a lot to say about the way they choose to apply the rules we (those who do race NHRA) have to live by.

Carefull now, they may come out with a G cell battery.

Yes HP is a complaint on here but the cost of these cars is the main issue with people. My issue is dont complain about a guy who has worked his *** off to make enough money to spend it on what he loves. Now I'm not racing now, My boys are 15 and 11 and race Jr dragsters. I'm 100% devoted to them and out of 21 races this year we got 6 wins, 3 ru and 8 Semi's. I'm having a hell of a lot more fun than 99% of the class racers who post on here and I'm doing it with my boys. My dad's shop is where we work on the cars and we have a GREAT TIME.

How many of you racers can say you really have a good time doing this sport. And oh yea we dont have a new car, new motors, we use 10 year old technology on the clutch we run, we are out $$$ buy 90% of the Jr operations at the track but Ill bet we have 200% more fun than anyone.

Now after saying that, My son will be in a stocker some this year, and in 2012 for sure. I wont have a drag pack because I cant afford one, if we get out run heads up then who gives a sxxt, I'm doing what I love with my boys, PRICELESS.

Herb Jr

Sorry I dont race NHRA right now, Ive decided my boys are more important.

I couldn't care less what they cost. Just correct the hp numbers. I can afford one, but can't justify spending it. Too close to retirement.

It would run a little higher than T .
The 4 cylinder Mopars in comp are using the sprint car motors (a sawed in half longways V8). It is a pushrod motor that has nothing in common with the SRT4 blocks.
I've talked to the comp guys about using a motor like mine but they don't think they could get a car light enough. (146 cubes)
