Some history,
The Pop 'Smokey Joe' Coletti ran the 68' Barracuda 340 "RIDDLER" in E/SA in 1968. Was the E/SA Stock Class Runner-Up at the 68' Winternationals, losing to Jim McFarland in the Sox & Martin 68' Barracuda 340, in the E/SA Class Finals. Pop 'Smokey Joe' also set both ends of the 1968 E/SA National Record with a 12.79 @ 109.75 MPH. Of course, the son Mark won the F/SA Class Finals at the 69' Winternationals with the same car, but lettered "RIDDLER II", and went on to win the Stock Eliminator Championship. Mark also set the F/SA National Record in 1969 (12.69) with the "RIDDLER II'. And in 1970, he set the G/SA National Record (12.49) with the 1970 '340 Duster' "RIDDLER III". And again in 1971 (with a 12.40), with the same car (with 71' trim sections). pc Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 12-10-2011 at 02:30 PM. |

Here's an old shot of a 68 B029 Hemi Barracuda which Coletti sponsored called “Double Trouble” and was campaigned by Terry Moore and Larry Fors out of Port Orchard, Wash.

Here is the cover, back and first page of "Coletti Racing Tips" that I bought by mail order for $3 in 1972 or 73. I learned about them from a guy out of Webster, NY named Glen Wessel that ran an I/SA '69 fast back 340 Cuda called "King Cuda" at ESTA in Syracuse, NY in the day. His engines were built by Coletti. I was young and had a '72 340 Demon that I wanted to learn about.
