We are still here and will be until probably Tuesday when we leave for Earlville.
We are parked about 3 rows south of gate 8 on the east side 3 trailers to the inside. Look for a white trailer with Texas tags. Lots of white trailers just not many with Texas tags. Rick Cates |

Rolled out last night to beat the traffic home since we live near the shore and this being a holiday. Hopefully see ya next year...we’ll, that’s if the .90 cars are allowed at Indy since it seems like we’re a headache to other classes. |

How did a thread on parking turn into this??????
anyway, Rick your post on looking for the white trailer reminded me of a joke I played at Atco. I called a pizza delivery joint and told them to come in track and look for the white trailer. I got a cold pizza but It was worth it.

I feel that this mess has cured me from going to the us nationals. nhra did not have any plan at all in place. They did not have enough people parking the rigs. Lets face it. During this time of the year in Indy it rains almost every time during the nationals.I have been to this race race since 1987 and the races that it did not rain were far and few between. On another note they need to make this race go fast or go home. They have added top sportsman and top dragster. Super gas and super do not fit this description. The pits are not big enough to accommodate any more cars. This fiasco is a testament to this. I was pitted it a spot that was on a 15 degree slant to one side. THIS IS UNACCAPTABLE.THE GRASS WAS ANKLE DEEP. THIS IS UNACCAPTABLE.

So did nhra vp in charge of parking walk through sportsman pits with kick me pinned to the seat of his pants. Never could figure this stacking thing out . Talk about a fire hazard could you imagine being parked 4 deep in 10 rigs front and back. Rig in front of you starts on fire at 2am. How would fire dept put that mess out.
