Most, but not all, of the COPO 9010/9737AA Novas went to Yenko Chevrolet, where they were turned into the 'Yenko Duece' cars that were sold exclusively at the Yenko dealership. In fact, it was Don Yenko that lobbied Chevrolet for the COPO number to get these cars to him as assembly line produced cars so they could be sold with the full warranty intact. The COPO 9737AA was the COPO 9010 LTI with the upgraded heavy duty suspension package. As far as h.p. ratings/factors, this is the exact same LT1 engine that has been run in the 1970 Z28 Camaros for many years....nothing new there. The only thing new is it's recognition in the Nova. The factored h.p. is 325 with an automatic and 320 with a stick with O.E. heads. Again, same as in the Camaro. The '71 Z28's had a lower compression version of the '70 LT1. There were no '71 Nova LT1's produced. Lots more trivia on these cars...hope this helps clear up any confusion. -Al

All had exact same options except Gear Ratios (355 or 391) Manual Steering and Brakes were only availabiliy, Also regular production M code 1969 Cudas that any Dealer could order. However, only last month or so of the model run. Most any option choice was available on them (except no PS or PB) Initial production was 80 to Mr. Norm and 20 to Saddleback Dodge in So Cal. I do not recall if they made any additional runs. I have owned and raced three of them since 1969. They ran low 13's on the tiny tires at OCIR when stock YES = I am old!

The Yenko I mentioned was raced at Etown and driven there with Pro Track 60 series tires.....slapper bars and steep rear gears.....
With slicks and open headers it ran mid 12's. The engine spun a bearing and a local dealer......Wallace Chevrolet in Linden N.J. would not warrantee it.....The car was less than a year old.... We picked up the car and the engine was piled in the trunk, oil everywhere... I swapped in a spare 302 Z/28 race engine from a '69 Camaro racecar the Yenko's owner also had I drove the Yenko for a few weeks everyday,,,,,,,one of the coolest cars I ever had fun driving......and it was fast.....I did not want to give it back ! It was Sold for proabably $3000 or less......!!!

Isn't the Camaro/Nova LT1 the same as the Vette 350/370?
