Tell me Frank why is traction control going to help me???? Why? WOW!!!! Instead of asking you should find out why. Learn about this stuff for your own good. Do you know where or why the Motic system was developed? Do you know who developed the original Accel or the Felpro" fast"? Apparently you don't know who built my car!!!!! Wow again!! I don't let cards fall where they may, I move them and then I move them again Frank. NHRA is a Dictatorship, it always has been you should know that from your days Frank. I'm the guy who knocks the wall down. Go ahead spend your money I'll fight for mine.. You can just stand in a line like the rest, I make my own....... And its Keith not Kieth

I bought the box new from them in Dec, 2005 when I finally got ready to intall it it was Mar 2008. I called fast and asked some questions. About my application. And was told " the gray box is obsolete we don't work on them anymore, and that I should toss it and get the red box xfi". And not to bother them with phone calls anymore. That's what I call great customer service. A brand new unit 2 1/2 years old, cost $2500 and don't call us anymore. There are a lot of people out there that are using the gray boxes but the overwhelming majority are GM 8 cylinders. As far as traction control goes I have the lowest torque of any superstocker I run the smallest tire of any superstocker. GEE I THINK I NEED TRACTION CONTROL. I'll put that on my list right after a PARACHUTE, a FULL FIRE SUIT, ONBOARD FIRE SYSTEM, a FUNNY CAR CAGE. AND ALL THE OTHER STUFF I MIGHT NEED IN A 13 SECOND CAR LOL

I am concerned with the FACT that the National Hot Rod Association would spend the time and energy to publish articles with pictures of the Ashley Force and Daniel Hood wedding in lieu of creating and POSTING the list of ECU units accepted by NHRA that they repeatedly state in the rulebooks and rules revisions of the past and the present. I'd like to be on Ashley as much as the next guy with my taste for the perverse, but come on..correct me if I am wrong, didn't NHRA hire or move into a position a person that was an "electronics guru"?..For one reason or another, I remember that on NHRA's site about a year and a half ago. If that were a fact, I believe that the person in that department would be responsible for posting, maintaining, and revising the list of accepted units from a manufacturers perspective and the competitors perspective. I love the NHRA, and have plans to race in the NHRA for the rest of my years. I was simply curious to see the list I keep reading about.
The idea of using traction control specifically in stock is retarded.

Keith, what's your point? If you use your imagination (and a considerable amount of time and effort) technology available today including ABS, traction control, electronic shifting valve bodies, dial in board, wireless communication, electronic fuel injection, could be used to control ET or recover ET. Nhra may not like the idea of that sort of thing. Is the list pupose to get the racer to spend money with a given manufacturer? Does it really matter knowing the same guy developed the Accel, Fast and Big Stuff, and Motec is from Australia? In a previous post I stated information was sent to NHRA to get the Gen VI approved. Is that not OK with you? Happy Holidays!! ![]()

NHRA: JUNE 21 2004.
" This letter will SERVE as ACCEPTANCE of the Pantera ECU-882 for the use in the Sportsman categories of NHRA Championship Drag Racing Series" "Regards, Eric M Lowe" Now in the past 4 1/2 years I have sold EMS to NHRA competitors with this certification ! NO TRACTION CONTROL, no, we do not have this object. MANY ON THE LIST PROFESS their EXPERTISE in the Traction Control field ? NOW because my EMS is LEGAL, I AM NOT ON THE LIST ? My REGRETS to those who compete at NHRA events ! I will start the legal work to correct the list, with my ECU-882 to be posted ON THE LIST "AGAIN". Lance Nist, BTW, for those who have called I will provide the NEW/OLD certification. |

According to the new rule book the lt1 cars or any others with a distributor can't run a crank trigger ignition. Is this a misprint?

Both the BBC (Gen-5+) AND SBC (LT-x) have crankshaft targets fitted by the OEM.
That target is a four (4) tooth wheel. Those engines also run a "distributor", POS. My replacement for that wheel is a new target, a 36 tooth wheel with ONE missing tooth. The EOM sensor is also used to provide the signal to the EMS. With this method an accurate "spark instant" is achieved. What you are reporting is how BIG MONEY rules NHRA requiring their product implementation to be ENFORCED. The costs are increased to the racers who are required to run inferior equipment. Lance |

Today, Jake Hairston stated that the Pantera EFI ECU-882's, 422's, all versions of that family are on the "List".
He stated that a new list will soon be published. Lance |
