Re: Surprise Coming For St. Louis ADRL SCS...
The DP's have trouble getting to 3250 with a hemi with the driver. Mine is probably one of the lightest around @ 3060 without a driver and a 360 which is about 30 lighter than a hemi. That's pro trans, 8 3/4, and all the other stuff. Bartons might be lighter except for the Dana. But then NHRA has the proposed weight of the natural v8's @ 3000 for the proposed shootout which is out of the question for a DP. Maybe the mustangs can get there or the new bowties. NHRA has also turned down a blower for mopar as well as a 3 speed for the v10, and no comment on the transmissions. If my information is right (which it probably ain't), the chevys all have glides, but a 3 speed is legal cause it's in the book. Actually that proposal had a lot of thought in it, but the weights and index won't make for competition, and you would have to run about 9.0 to get into the stock show. Maybe. Back to the weights on ADRL, I don't know what the final weights are. It sorta slipped by me. Looks like NHRA might want the same Mustang show. But who knows what the final outcome will be from either sanction. I still support both for the efforts. It's a lot of work and planning.
