If that is true, then that sucks. If a racer is going thru all the trouble to set a record and teardown, and the 1/8th mile timers are already on anyway, then why not let 'em go for both records ?

I had RE-set the IHRA SS/LA record at union grove WI in 2003 at a 1/4 mile pro-am event and asked if i could get the 1/8 mile record as well and was informed that i could not.
the following week we went to pittsburg and set the SS/MA record and were turned down again. back then we were getting 5 points for every record we could set and I was told that was the reason we could not set both the 1/4 and 1/8 well we got luckey and got the championship that year anyway it wasn't about the points for us back then, it was the pride and the glory
