I could use a jeep trans which is a 999 chrysler with a chevy bolt pattern in the 70's

Asking for a friend.

The bellhousing pattern in the back of the block is not Chevy, the pattern doesn't match up to any automatic that I know of. ATI, Kowalsky Racing, etc.. make an adapter, or a mid-mount can be fabricated to adapt. Some crankshafts are Chevy pattern, some are Ford, some were altogether different (Penske). You already have a class in mind, but I think with the R5 block layout they would make a killer SS/AS combo.
