It is not negligence...it is a combination of a bad designed intake gaskets and the intake manifold and the effects of the Dexcool formulation. GM has redesigned the 3.1 and 3.4 intake gaskets several times; the latest redesigned intake gasket was introduced in 2003. Also, the intake manifold was redesigned too; the best intake is the replacement intake made by Delphi, or use the aftermarket intake made by Dorman. Tommy Gaynor has confirmed this is a problem that has been happening for many years. I have seen cars under 30K with the leaking intake manifolds and gaskets. Also know of people that took their cars to the dealer to have them fixed, paid the average $750.00 ~ $900.00 cost, if the engine could be reapired, and see it repeat again 15k later. Therefore, the source of the problem was found to be Dexcool. Check out these other sites and educate yourself: http://www.dsengine.com/gmgasket/index.html http://www.zillamotorsports.com/DEX/ |
