Default Re: Carb cleaner

The dunk buckets are good for an old dirty carb you're rebuilding or cores you're starting with.

Most prepped race carbs don't get that filthy. A quick clean up, freshen, new gaskets type maintenance, I use the old Berkebile 2+2. Stuff still works and is actually outlawed in some states. Wear safety glasses. Hot water and compressed air is also helpful.

Old trick some one told me long ago - I got into the habit of spraying a bit of WD40 down the air bleeds every other week or so. A little muck in those passages can upset mixtures. I believe the WD knocks the junk and fuel dyes loose from those passages to help maintain consistency. And it's not so aggressive that it damages anything you get overspray on.
