Well, we heard the pitter-patter of tiny raindrops on the roof during the night. It didn't rain much, but it isn't looking too good this morning. The sky is really gray and it is cool, with a big headwind. Larry just now unloaded the car expecting it to rain any minute, he kept putting it off. They will probably be calling us up in a few minutes. Although it is cooler this morning, with the headwind, I doubt anybody picks up.
I haven't talked to Mike Fuller this morning yet, but I bet he and Janice are in mourning over the Red Wings losing the Stanley Cup. But I imagaine there are some people over there in Englishtown with Jack that are still celebrating! Wish us luck on getting this in today. It's not looking good. More later. Patsy |

We got started right at 9 this morning and ran about 30 stockers before the rain started. Larry was the next car behind the ones in the waterbox when everything stopped. They sent everyone back to the pits. So it was time for coffee and donuts. The rain has stopped and they are drying the track now.
I don't know how this has affected the schedule for the day. Nothing has been announced. Oh that wind did not seem to bother anyone much. Summers picked up another .11 on his # 1 spot. Jim Marshall went back up to pick up his wife at the stands in the rain like a good husband ought to........He said he was going to wait until the rain stopped, but then thought better off it! It was really good to see Mr. Big Stuff here this weekend. He came down and had a Bloody Mary with us yesterday. He is looking good. If you are here with small kids this weekend, you need to go by Jason McCormack's pit with them. They have a big blow up bouncing playground with them. Looked like the kids were all having fun! More later. Patsy |

Well, we should be running 1st round in another hour or so.
Heard about a casualty from this morning--the fender of Butch Payne's car. An unnamed Super Street racer was running down the main road running 50 mph (as per my sources) and Butch was unloading his car. It startled him so that he turned the wheel as he was backing out and the wire that is attached to the rear door caught the fender and ripped it off. So now the fender is being held on with duct tape and decals. Now that is a different use of duct tape. Michael Beard would be proud of you. (he is Duct Tape Racing, isn't he?) Patsy |

I hope you are still racing up there. DRC only has results for top dragster, alcohol, sportsman. I have even been checking the radar returns, they look clear.
Mighty quiet, compared to the Div 7 race, 22 Stockers AND rain. Good luck to all up there. |

Sorry we went out to dinner with Mike and Janice Fuller and we're still licking our wounds from 1st round. Larry had a little worse light and broke out a little to lose 1st round. There were lots of red lights and people missing their dials. We were showing it to be about .02 slower than qualifying this morning, then we ran the same. The wind was not as strong this evening. It turned out to be just a gorgeous day here, about 70 and sunny.
Losing 1st round has probably changed our plans for racing this summer. There really isn't any need now to go to Stanton or Columbus points races. We may decide to go to the Norwalk national event. It was a great place for the divisional. What do you guys think about going to the National event there? I guess I will start getting the motohome ready to move out first thing in the morning. Might even get home in time to get the yard mowed. Patsy r |
