Anyone why there is the 1967 & up rule in SS/AS, SS/BS & SS/CS?

So, you Chevy guys can run your Camaro's. Seriously, if the year rule was lowered it would only include '55-'57 Chevy's. How many '55 Fords, Dodges, Plymouths, Studebakers, etc were race cars in that day........virtually none! To lower the year rule would only benefit the chevy guys.

Probably because of the original rule when the Super Modified class was created.
