With early cars that have a lot of reinforcement under the hood, you can go with less. Later model hoods, and/or fiberglass hoods, can bow at high speeds reducing the clearance.

Hood scoop is of no use, air intake is out the bottom.

do you put flat hood for heads up or record runs?
So with that scoop do get asked if that things got a hemi?

I have a flat hood, and some steel fenders ready to paint.
I predict I'll pickup half a second. Bring on the DP's and CJ's
