The shame is that if the run had counted on the AHFS, at 2.077 under the index the car would have only gotten 34 horsepower. Figuring that it should be factored where it could still be 1.00 under it would take a total of 60 horsepower to move it to Q/SA. And that won't happen for a long time to come thanks to the AHFS.

So true! I don't think I have ever seen anyone blame one of the racers who are taking advantage of a ridiculous situation. I probably would be doing the same thing if I had the money to throw at it, but, like all good things, it will come to an end, eventually. Jim

There is a big difference here, Bob came up with the combo and built it and also made it work, do you see any others doing one ? I wonder why ?, because it takes a big set of Balzs to give it a try and succeed.

Well I guess you did not see the post by MR. Billy Nees saying these people are not racers, they come into our sport, spent their mony(it is their money)to buy the best cars and the best people, rasied the bar for every one else(from my experience,I have found if you have money and a big D**K you want to swing it)
That is a quote from MR. Nees and uncalled for.David

OK Mr davidhuff, explain to me what it is that is uncalled for in the post? Other than I didn't get specific enough (which I won't).

Bill, remember our conversation the other day?Seems like your position on this subject
is giving some people a severe case of hemorrhoids.
It's good to be one of the lower echelon of the Stock eliminator world.Except for the
occasional overlooked lower classed combo we have no worry about the big buck
guys building a "slow stocker".
Those people in a tizzy about Bob's Cadillac should be aware that Bob only races a few times a year, mainly Belle Rose and maybe Indy and an occasional divisional.Where the
new NHRA enhanced cars are at every race on the schedule.
And as far as not worrying about a slower car winning anything I think Jody Lang might have something to say about that.
For the 10,000th time most of us have no problem with the people who have these
enhanced cars. The problem is the apparent collusion between NHRA and the manufacturers of these combinations.Put them in their own classes and goodbye problem. We can move on to bigger problems.
BTW Davidhuff what class do you run?

I do not have a stocker at this time but I am thinking of getting back in the game. The last stocker I had was a F/SA built by Linda & Woodro Josey.

Now if the NHRA would open up the Stock Car Classification Guide to ANY vehicle made available to the public by any manufacturer during any model year 1955 and up, instead of the choices we have now, things could get REALLY interesting!
