Yes original vega box is cast iron they are probaly still some floating around. They are a good box

How much hassle is it to fit one to the car? I always thought they were a direct bolt on, except pittman arm....

They'll bolt to the frame, but the steering shaft is smaller than the std GM ones..It would need to be adapted.

The other thing I don't know about is the pitman arm when installing on rear steer car I guess it's going on firebird in picture.
My car is front steer and everything lined up except adapt spline,not sure about on rear steer car though
