I used to charge $1800.00 for a record capable motor and used 90% of the parts that came it, now I can't do one for less than $10,000 and you can forget about a record. All that extra expense and the payout is about the same. Funny part is when we were a second slower the competition was just as fierce. It's all relative.

BTW Our Reher Morrison engine was $1900 in 1974, manifold to pan and they supplied everything.
