Mine and others opinion.

~Not sure why someone would refer to an LS-based Pontiac as not real--at least the factory BUILT those. Al Corda ran a 9.98 in A/FIA (same weight as A/SA) eleven years ago, and I believe 1-2 others have been in the 9's, making them the quickest Pontiac Stockers ever.

Whats your take on the new factory cars? COPO, Drag Pak and Cobra Jet's?? By that theory they are "real" traditional stock and super stockers??

They should be S/S-only. Same as the '68 Hemis, '69 AMX and '64 Thunderbolt (until 2008). Non-street legal factory race cars not eligible for Stock.

Mike,, Its not that an LS based Poncho isn't real,, its just that I was asked about a traditional Pontiac engine based stocker, which dates back to before GM got rid of the engines of the separate divisions, mainly Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Cadillac as I'm sure you're aware. They stayed with the Chevy stuff as "corporate' until the development of the LS family of engines. I seem to recall a few Olds powered Firebirds out there, however. Thats what got this whole snowball rolling on these threads this week,,, sorry for any confusion,,I think? Its been fun reading these.
