All comp classes have an index. They run off their index. In qualifying they can go as fast as they want. Like this weekend at Charlotte the top 7 are -.67 under there index. Now in eliminations if they go more than-.50 under they get a cic penalty. So example someone's index is 9.00 and they run 8.45 and win the next round there index would be 8.95. So they lose .05 if they go -.60 under or more they get a permanent hit on there index. I don't run comp but love the class. If I posted something wrong someone will correct me I'm sure. Ed
