I have a street machine built to GT/MA standards and I have had a ton of trouble trying to get an alternator to keep up with all the electrical demands of it. My current one is a 100 amp TuffStuff one wire that seems to be up to the task. Weight is an issue and it puts a strain on my aluminum heads with the current mounting bracket. The Denso form factor is nice but I don't think they would power my needs with full time lights, fuel pump, water pump, fans and a vacuum pump for the brakes.
I had a 140 amp Powermaster that came out of the box with the case bolts falling off. They looked like they had been bathed in acid and the nuts just sheared off with my finger tips. Nice return from Summit. Dale
