Default Re: Welding- Mig Or Tig

For body panels I have been using tig with Silicon Bronze. Its seems to be more of a braze than actual weld but it works. Works great for filling all the small holes from Clecos, firewall attachments and others up to 3/8" without any metal plug. I just put a quarter on a 68 Cuda and I used mig, not tig, silicon bronze and it went ok. A little more practice and my feeling is it will be the best way for sheet metal.

tig is the better deal if you can handle it. on body panels the welds are much easier to grind.
