This topic really torques my vent hole! I know this idea comes up over and over and over again but why not use the new factory race cars for a new improved Pro Stock???? It just seems like such a great idea I can't understand why it isn't even considered by the NHRA. Why do they stick them in S/SS with more letters--is it just to make an already incomprehensible class even more confusing? They get rid of the separate FI classes in the name of simplifying, they take .3 off our indexes to help the little guy (wtf?) now I have to compete against cars that come with their own factory support team! Don't get me wrong, I love the renewed factory interest and I have nothing against rich people racing but why not let these guys show off on the big stage? And don't even get me started on the over-Camaro of the class....

My original post was not meant to start in fighting. I know this not a P/S site, but I am worried about our class racing. If they will do this to one of their top three pro classes, where do we stand. Are they going cut a eliminator series the way they did the Modified series. The stock rules are, in my opinion, getting too "loose". My concern is where will they stop. One big "bracket"? I left Drag racing for a while a, and now I realize what a great sport we have. I don't want to go back to where I was. It involved running in circles and not nearly friendly.

I wanted to feature them as "Factory Pro Stock" at the Class Nationals, but most of those people didn't support the event in the first place.

I would like to see a format like Top Stock used to be. Qualifying 2 on Friday, one more Sat Morning and finish on Sat Night. Other than odd amount on first round, no bye, fast looser from the previous round comes back, heads up. They have moved a little toward that with the .500 pro tree, but qualifying 8 and the rest go back to stock don't work. Separate eliminator, separate everything. If you want to run Stock, bring another car. I really have not cared for the format since the first race. Indexes too liberal, or many other things. And blown vs unblown don't work. Lot's of complaints from the Stock guys and girls, mostly true. Maybe it will get better.

I remember when yourself , the Teuton's and a few others raced Top Stock and the stands were full. It was a great time for Stock in general.

I like what Jeff said. Need to work Pro Stock back into division races. For Nationals.....qualify 8, plus something to do with division racers, like division leader gets a first round bye. I also like "the fast loser" part. Personally, I would like to see a 14x32 tire rule.

Great Post Chris!! Bingo we have a winner... They had the perfect format already and did not take advantage of it. Look at how many good PS racers are setting out... Asking us to embrace this BS is like embracing Hilary! That Sh!t ain't gonna happen! Can't blame the economy for everything...
