Does that mean the 1968 Hemi SS hoods are legal on the 1968 Darts and Barracudas? Do they have to be fiberglass, or can they be carbon fiber replicas? I think that would be nice to have with a 273 2bbl. That might motivate me to change from the 1966 Dart to a 1968.☺

It is the glass in the roof you should be worried about. Too dark of tint, and your bounced.

A Hemi hood scoop might slow a 273 2bbl down. (No offense to U/S and U/SA cars, we used to get burgers in Mike Smith's 9 passenger wagon) :-)

Dick, I assume the L48 is the 295 hp? Was it possible to order a SS with a bench seat and column shift, because I had one . I don't recall a SS gas cap, but possible .
Where else were the SS markings in 68?

Yes it was, as I own a 1967 Camaro SS/RS 350/295 with a bench seat and a column shift.

Cool Re: Question on Hoods

How about in '69, a Chevelle 300 post car with a 396/375? A few hundred of those were built to compete with the Plymouth Road Runner, ie.a cheap body with a big block power train. Not sure what hood these had, they were pretty rare.
