Randall… The idea sounds intriguing and the cowl hood (SS scooped hood you mentioned) would be favourable, obviously. Although, the advantage of the additional height may be impeded by the cowl air filter sealing ring flange. The centre to centre placement of the carburetors will need to be considered, to work with the stock sealing ring flange. With your combination, the carburetor bias will favour the firewall or rear of this flange. In 1969 you could order a Z/28 with dual Carburetors and Crossram intake, but the hood had a different style construction with hood sealing flange that worked specifically for that application. Randall, I haven't answered your question directly, but just didn't know if you were aware of this potential interfering factor. You did mention that you were "kind of lazy" and I didn't want you to construct something that might not work with some of the measurements you may receive. Hope this helps…Maurice.
