I'll just say this.. if you are actually trying different fuels, and not making tune-up changes according to what your combination wants for that particular fuel, you just may be missing the advantages to that fuel.. and it is easier to do it on the dyno, if you in fact dyno.. many do not, because they run the same combinations freshen up after freshen up.. so they would have to try it at the track... and believe me, O2 sensors make the difference.. it's not that easy to read spark plugs anymore with some of these fuels..
There are some fuels that are almost a direct change over, but even with those, a little tuning would make things better.. |

For what it's worth, I ran Sunoco in my SS and Stockers for many years. Way back before they even checked fuel. When I started having fuel check problems with it (2 in one year and 1 the next) I decided to try VP. They used to be pretty closely priced then and the only problem was figuring which one to switch to. Tried C12 and then settled on C11 as it seems to make more HP on the dyno in my particular (low comp 360 MoPar) combo. Many of my Chevy racer pals have told me the same. Just my experience so far, that's all.
There has been a lot of useful and informational info brought out here not withstanding the one ego driven poster here who insists you take his info as gospel and run the fuel HE wants you to run or you are a moron. LOL. I think it is pretty evident that 1320racer has either got a deal with Sunoco or has stock in them. Nobody is that loyal to a fuel company! If I found a better fuel that worked better than what I run now... it'll be in my tank! After back to back dyno pulls I haven't found it yet. Lastly, I would ask that you not feed the bear unless you enjoy the side show at the carnival. Jim .

I speak the truth regardless of whose feelings and ego is wounded due to it. So Jimmy,
what part of the truth and the facts don't you like? Oh and my cars are quicker and faster than yours. ![]() |
