Why not give points based on your qualifying order in reverse order:; in 50 car field no 1 gets 50 pts no2 gets 49 pts etc etc no 50 qualifyer gets 1 point. This would encourage people to try and qualify better. Don't seem like it would be too hard to keep up with.

You don't want to give too many points for #1.If you WIN stock elim. you get around 130 pts.a race. Say if you were to give 90 or 50 pts. for #1,and someone has an obscure combo that's a constant top qualifier. You could win the Championship by winning very few rounds.I would say the equivalent of a round win, maybe 20 pts.?...gsa612

I was not aware of no AHFS either for the #1 qualifier. Interesting.

Stock, super stock, and comp have been strategy not performance classes for a long time. It takes qualifying strategy, picking a combo that can run different classes and finish line driving.
Until these classes go back to handicap racing with ET'S based off the best run in the class, Car/Driver can only race 1 class a year, nothing will change. |
