Jay,

We fired the A&S Motorports/Smith 275/313 HP Cleveland on the 4th of July; John Douglas' neighbor came over the next day and said it was the most beautiful sound he ever heard. This thing does sound wicked and believe it, I want be backing down from anyone because the only thing that can happen is that someone will be watching some tail lights, hopefully it's not me.

If my my package arrives by Wednesday I might take it to Sunshine for some test runs.
Now, I'm not sure if those were Mike's words but to anyone who wants to see me I'm not hard to find.
The same way Mike can get some heads up in SS/IA you can get some in GT/EA Jay, all I have to do is change the year of the car and bam I'm in GT/EA. Maybe you might need to look over your shoulder now LOL, we can do this before Reynolds. Sunshine or Bradenton.

It's all fun though guys, I am really looking forward to running you guys and seeing how I stack up. This thing means alot to me because I did alot of the work myself and I have had a lot of help from guys who have done this longer than me and I want to make them proud. So if beatin' the breaks off a couple of Chevy's is what ot will take I guess I will have to do it.

Good job of stirring the pot Jay, looking foreward to seeing you guys a race soon.

Jay. you know that thing will run 6.30's with ease, that's a Chevy. I will be sure to pass on to John this evening that your seat belts are tight whatever inside joke that is.

Smitty,

I am planning on taking my car out to Sunshine to put a few laps on it before taking it to reynolds. I will be going out next wed night. Hope to see you there. As jay said it is a bunch of old parts that we put together. I will be real happy if I can run 10.70 or maybe 6.80 in the 1/8. That cleveland ford should be able to out run me easily. I can ramember when Mike Saye used to kick my but in SS/I with that mustang he had.

Mike,

My car should look real familiar because it is the car that Mike Saye drove for Joe Hartley. I am glad to see you back out there. The Drag Racing fraternity is a good group, I don't know any other form of racing where true racers will help you out. I have had a lot of help getting my car ready and finally it's for the most part complete; I waiting for my new NHRA legal transbrake button and valve covers and we will be ready rock. Hopefully the weather holds up and we can go over to Sunshine and give those folks a real high winding show. Looking forward to seeing you.

Smitty,

That is very cool, The old super stock cars just keep coming back. That was a fast car back in the day. Where has it been since Mike drove it. I have had my car since 1977, I was 18 yrs old. Jay an I have been racing together since then. He is a great friend. I couldnt have gotten my car back together with out his help. We aren't real fast but we have a good time and love to race.....
